I had to use my PC and import files using iTunes. Previously, there was no way to download music from web and store it on iOS. One feature i really wanted on iOS was the ability to import music from Safari. One unique feature of Doppler is that it allows us to import songs directly from Files app, Safari, and other apps. Doppler supports large number of file formats like MP3, FLAC, AAC, WAV, and many others. You can import your existing iTunes purchases. When you first open the app, your existing local music library is automatically imported into Doppler. One thing i really missed is the lack of repeat button, i hope it gets added in the future updates. You can also edit your now playing queue quickly by tapping ‘up Next’ right below the transport controls. Below the scrubber lie the actual controls that allow you to play, pause, skip songs, and go back to previous songs. Just beneath the album artwork is the scrubber that allows you to manually progress through a song by dragging your finger across it. It features all the controls at the bottom of the screen right beneath the album artwork. The play screen is quite simple, and has a dark feel to it. Tapping on a song will bring up the primary play screen. For Album covers with light colors, these buttons are black and for covers with dark colors these buttons are white. There are two ‘Play’ and ‘Shuffle’ buttons in the album view, that also look quite elegant. I really like this aspect of Doppler’s design. It loads with backgrounds matching the color scheme of each album, just like the previous versions of Apple’s Music app. Album ViewĪlbum View is really beautiful and colourful. The main screen of Doppler is the Artists tab, with navigation bar at the bottom which lets you toggle between Artists, Playlists, Search, and App settings. This dark look combined with lovely icons in the bottom tab bar add to the overall minimalist feel here. I love this dark look, it makes the app feel so minimal. Design Doppler’s main screenĭoppler is beautifully designed, and has a dark feel to it. Doppler also lets you edit song metadata. You can import your existing iTunes purchases, or import songs or podcasts from Files app and Safari. It is beautifully designed and provides reliable offline playback and lets you better organize your music library. There are plenty of users who don’t use services like Apple Music and Spotify, this is where Doppler comes into the picture. I was looking for an alternative, and after trying many apps I settled on Doppler.ĭoppler is a music app, that launched a few months ago, intended to provide a great offline music experience on iOS. They ruined the default music app for me. The default music app puts streaming first, and my local library has been shifted to “Downloaded Music”, thus requiring extra taps to get to the local library. You can listen to offline music, but it is secondary to streaming. It has destroyed offline music experience on iOS. The iOS Music app has prioritized Streaming music since the launch of Apple Music.
